Job title(s): Senior Research Analyst/Quantitative
Description: The Consortium seeks a Senior Research Analyst to conduct quantitative research that will inform policy and practice in the Chicago Public Schools. The Consortium is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in teaching and learning, elementary education, or postsecondary education and experience with mixed methods studies. A Senior Research Analyst has experience successfully conducting and completing independent quantitative research while demonstrating good communication and project administration skills. She/he will demonstrate expertise with conducting rigorous analyses of quantitative data using multivariate statistical methods and be able to communicate complex ideas to a wide variety of audiences. The Senior Research Analyst should be comfortable working on a team in a highly collaborative environment.

Full Description:

Take a leadership role in designing and implementing research studies and evaluation projects on topics related to school improvement and student success with a focus on the Chicago Public Schools.
Identify and apply appropriate research techniques with independent judgment.
Produce Consortium reports and manuscripts for publication in academic journals.
Play an active role in designing research studies, writing grant proposals, and grant reports.
Engage and communicate with a wide range of educational stakeholders.
Develop ongoing relationships with partners, including funders, policymakers, individuals in Chicago schools, the University of Chicago, and state and national educational research organizations.
Mentor junior staff.
Provide advice on methods to colleagues.
Contribute to the intellectual capacity of the organization.

Knowledge and demonstrated use of multivariate statistics (including multiple regression and logistic regression).
Advanced skills in one or more statistical packages or programming languages (e.g., SAS, Stata, R).
Passion for improving educational outcomes and supporting actionable uses of research evidence.
Commitment to understanding and improving outcomes for students of all backgrounds and experiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, in collaboration as a team member, and in a supervisory role.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Requirements??
Education, Experience or Certifications:


Master's degree in public policy, economics, sociology or other relevant social science or mathematical discipline required
Doctoral degree in public policy, economics, sociology or other relevant social science or mathematical discipline preferred.
Coursework in statistics required.

At least 3 years of experience in urban education research, policy and practice preferred.
Experience using advanced research techniques or methods.
Authorship on scholarly articles and/or research or evaluation reports preferred.
