Invitational Conference* - Introduction

"Research on Educational Effectiveness: Significant Findings and Critical Gaps"

The Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness will hold a conference on Sunday, December 10th through Tuesday, December 12th, 2006. The conference will bring together a community of individuals interested in the application of scientific research methods to pressing education issues, problems, and questions. The three goals of this conference are:

  • Identify important findings and critical gaps in research knowledge of educational effectiveness;
  • Help build a cohesive community of researchers and educational professionals interested in questions of educational effectiveness;
  • Broaden participation in the leadership and development of the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness.

The conference will host a range of speakers. Each speaker is a leader in their field who will address their recent work and lead discussions on contemporary education issues.

Date: Sunday, December 10th through Tuesday, December 12th, 2006
Location: Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, Virginia (just outside of Washington, D.C.)
