Spring 2019 Conference News: Theme: Tensions and Tradeoffs: Responding to Diverse Demands for Evidence

Registration is open for the conference, which you won’t want to miss! The Spring 2019 conference will feature 80 breakout sessions, two poster sessions, and ample time to network with your peers and others interested in high quality education research. Register by February 1, 2019 to take advantage of early bird rates.

SREE Launches Registry of Efficacy and Effectiveness Studies (REES)

On October 31, the Registry of Efficacy and Effectiveness Studies (REES), a new tool for improving transparency and accessibility of education research, launched. Developed by SREE with support from the Institute of Education of Sciences, REES is a repository of causal inference studies documenting the original design parameters for these studies in education and related social science fields. REES easily facilitates entering basic study information and pre-analysis plans for a range of study designs, including randomized trials, quasi-experimental designs, regression discontinuity designs, and single case designs.

SREE was able to share REES with attendees at the APPAM 2018 meeting in November, and looks forward to providing attendees of the IES PI meeting with a demonstration on January 20.

SREE Announces New Institutional Member Benefits for 2019

In response to feedback from members, SREE has updated its Institutional Membership benefits. Beginning with 2019, Institutional Members will be able to provide students (if the Member is an academic institution) or early career investigators (if the Member is a firm) with a $60 discount on registration for the SREE Spring 2019 conference. We hope that this change will allow Institutional Members to share the benefit of this membership more broadly within their organizations.

Institutional Members also can sponsor a Career Forum and take advantage of reduced rates for other sponsorship opportunities at the SREE Spring 2019 Conference.

Organizations that renew or sign up by January 15, 2019 will also be acknowledged in the conference program.
