WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: SREE 2021 CONFERENCE

Program

There is a detailed online interactive program available here and accessible from the SREE website. Please use this online program to plan your time at the conference. You can search by speaker, time, or sections, read abstracts, view posters, and visit exhibitors. You can also save sessions you are interested in to build your own itinerary.

Use the Conference at a Glance PDF for a quick overview of the schedule.

*****

Time Zone
The program is planned based on Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDT). Please note that you can choose either “My Time” or “Meeting Time” on the right-hand side of the online program to look at the schedule. “Meeting time” is Eastern Daylight Savings Time. If you select “My Time, the program will display what time the sessions are in the time zone where you are logging in.  Please take your time zone into consideration when planning your attendance.

*****

Access
Registered attendees will be able to access conference sessions directly from the online interactive programThe link for each individual session will be posted on the program 10 minutes before the session start time. To attend a session, click the Join Now" button, which will display 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. You will be prompted to login with your SREE credentials.

To view conference sessions and access recorded content, you must Sign In with your SREE credentials. If you have any difficulty doing this, please email [email protected].

Note: The online rooms will function similarly to rooms at an in-person conference. If you enter at a time outside the session time, that room may very well be in use for another session.

*****

Live and Recorded Sessions
All concurrent research sessions and plenary sessions will be available in real-time, and will be recorded. The recordings will be available for viewing approximately 3 days after the session takes place.

Participants attending a live event will be able to ask questions during the session either via chat or by using the “raise hand” feature. Those who watch a recording will have the opportunity to take advantage of asynchronous chat for that particular session. Asynchronous chat allows attendees to ask questions after a session has ended and still receive a response from the speaker(s).

*****

Networking and Meet-Up Sessions
These sessions, such as the ROC organizational meeting and the graduate student meet-up, will provide an opportunity to talk more informally and meet other attendees. We encourage you to take part in these sessions to help you make connections and get the most out of the virtual conference. They will not be recorded.

Poster Sessions
In-the-Pipeline Poster Session 4 (Monday, September 27, 4:15PM – 5:15PM)
General Poster Session 6 (Tuesday, September 28, 1:15PM – 2:15PM)
General Poster & In-the-Pipeline Poster Session 13 (Friday, October 1, 1:00PM – 2:00PM)

Poster presenters will have had the opportunity to upload a PDF poster and a presentation video for attendees to watch. Attendees may use the chat feature to communicate with presenters during and outside (asynchronous) the scheduled session time.

Poster presentations can be accessed the same as other sessions. Navigate to the poster session, then select the poster title from within its assigned conference section to view uploaded material (e.g., and engage with the presenter via the chat feature).

*****

Asynchronous Q&A with Presenters
The question/answer box is found at the bottom of the session page, underneath the listed roles. Attendees can ask a question, and the presenter(s) and/or chairs on that session will get an email letting them know that they have been asked a question. The person who asked that question will get a notification in-app letting them know their question has been answered. Both are public and everyone can see. Because the chat is not a "thread", multiple people cannot answer.
